Congratulations to the CLASS OF 2007!

Health information management is the study of acquiring, analyzing, and protecting medical information which is vital to providing quality patient care. These professionals demonstrate leadership and management of health information in all formats (paper, scanned, and digital formats).

A blend of business and computer expertise, Health Information Management (HIM) links health care clinicians with information technology and is the bridge between patients’ health information and health insurers, state and federal government, and other regulating agencies.

The University of Kansas offers a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management as a two-year program on the KU Medical Center campus in Kansas City, Kan. Students must complete their first two years of undergraduate prerequisites from KU's Lawrence campus or another qualified accredited institution to become eligible for admission.
